His contribution as the HOD of the TPQ department with Protech Group brought us countless benefits and the opportunity to learn new things every day. His various aspects of business development ideas and the regular drops of brilliant pearls of knowledge were what made him a true leader.
Karmakar Sir believed that success comes with hard work and dedication and no individual can gain that experience without the enthusiasm to work. He was the force that drove each member of Protech Group to work better and gain both personal and professional growth. We remember how he would encourage each employee to do better and act as the pillar of encouragement every time one required during the various paths of challenges.

Retiring from his post as the HOD of the TPQ department in the month of September’20, we experienced the opportunity to have planned for him a small get-together. And as always, his fine personality contributed to making our little gesture a grand one.
It was with profound grief and sorrow that by the end of the year 2020, Mr. Adhir Kumar Karmakar left for his Heavenly Abode. 2020 has been a difficult year for us all. We have all experienced our share of challenges during the pandemic that ranged from staying indoors 24×7 barring all social life, to meeting doctors when symptoms of Covid-19 hit us. However, one needs to move on in the different paths of life while taking complete precautions. And this is what has been strictly yet carefully maintained with each employee and customer at Protech Group.
Our employees and customers are what defines the strength of our company and offering complete care towards their health and well-being are our foremost priority. Hence, Protech Group ensured to take in every essential measure required to combat Covid-19 since the day we re-opened after the lockdown. Ranging from regular sanitation of the different corners to ensuring each member inside is wearing a mask, we have been careful and promise to continue doing the same.

Additional Measures to Combat Covid-19

Aponar Apon Ghar Scheme (Assam): A government housing finance scheme by the state government of Assam, Aponar Apon Ghar scheme offers home loans to the state government employees at low-interest rates. DDA Housing Scheme: The Delhi Development Authority Housing Scheme too aims to provide housing benefits to individuals based on their monthly income. Loss of job, deteriorating health, loss of social life… the list goes on. This is a global health crisis that has disrupted the lives of each living being on Earth. The story goes somewhat the same for the residents of Protech Group’s multiple residential societies and its residents. One of our notable residents of Protech Harkanan, Mr. Pabitra Margherita, who is a state BJP spokesperson as well as producer and actor known for movies like Jonbai, Jonbai 2 and Tumi Mur Mathu Mur, shared –
“Apart from being a political worker, I am also a film worker. But with the rising cases of Covid-19, it affected the industry greatly as all productions were stopped. Though my professional front was affected, I ensured to give divert my time for the needy and offered every possible help to them during the period.”

H. Othello Sharma: “We took safety precautions, wore a mask, used sanitiser and didn’t go out of the house unless extremely necessary.”
Reema Goswami: “The pandemic affected us a lot. Nobody was allowed to step out or in for 2-3 months. We were thankful that at least cell phones exist today through which we could connect with our near and dear ones virtually. However, being a teacher (SSA), it was pretty difficult to work from home plus my salary has been deducted for cost-cutting procedures.”

Satya Sadhya Saikia: “We followed all the guidelines and necessary precautions and didn’t step out of the house.
Nitushmita Goswami (Lawyer at Guwahati High Court):“Our wants were limited to roti, kapda and makaan. I believe that we should avoid certain expenses and contact our near and dear ones virtually. It is good that we are still maintaining the precautions inside the society as the pandemic isn’t over yet.”
Sujata Gohain: “We followed protocols, maintained personal hygiene and adapted to the new social life. Fortunately, we were not affected economically as I am under govt sector and the work went on and off.”

Kakali Hazarika:“Covid-19 had been a tension. During the initial rise, I made sure to stay at home and isolated myself when necessary. All my social relations were decreased. The entire experience of Covid-19 has been a bad experience, but I feel blessed that there has been no problem in my job.”
Arati Talukdar:“It has been okay I can say. I am following all the necessary steps and taking every required precaution.”
Why Covid-19 was a phase of mixed experiences
2020 was also a year wherein the hidden talents of many people were introduced. While some took into painting and DIYs, many others learned to cook and welcome the practice of gardening. One of our residents from Protech Park, Dr. Anjali Goswami, shared, “Being old, it was hard dealing with the contagious disease. I took all the precautions and essentials were managed for livelihood. Most of my time was managed in kitchen gardening and reading books and the best part was that I learned to write poems during the lockdown.”
While taking precautions and following the required guidelines throughout, one of our residents at Protech Pelican, Mr. Partha Sarathi Dowerah, was unfortunately infected with the virus. He was admitted in Excel Care Hospital and his positive thoughts even after the battle are inspiring: “It was an excellent experience. Don’t fear when you think there is a change in your body. You should not panic. Everything with go on with time.”
